A Journey of Discovery and Creativity in Britain

2025-10-09

During the summer holidays, twenty students from S.2 to S.4 joined an inspiring two-week English study tour to the United Kingdom, designed to enhance their language skills and spark their creativity.

Students stayed at the historic Tonbridge School in Kent, where they experienced life in a traditional British boarding school. This year's programme focused on language arts, offering lively lessons in drama, singing, dancing, poetry and creative writing, all taught by native English teachers from Excel Academy. Through these activities, students learned how to use voice, movement and words to express ideas and emotions.

The itinerary included visits to Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, Hampton Court, the University of Cambridge and St Paul's Cathedral. These excursions provided authentic contexts for language learning and offered insights into British culture and heritage.

Highlights of the tour included watching the musical Wicked in London's West End and taking part in a drama workshop at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, which brought literature and performance vividly to life. At the end of the tour, students gave a final performance featuring their drama, music and poetry, and produced a tour magazine capturing their experiences and learning.

The trip not only boosted their confidence in using English but also strengthened their teamwork, independence and appreciation of other cultures, making it an unforgettable journey of growth, creativity and discovery.
