Cathay “I Can Fly” Programme – Aviation Explorer Days

2026-02-10

On Sunday, 8 February 2026, thirty-one of our students took part in the Cathay “I Can Fly” Programme – Aviation Explorer Days at Cathay City, Hong Kong International Airport, enjoying an afternoon packed with discovery and inspiration. The event is one of the many learning experiences our school has actively sought to broaden students’ horizons beyond the classroom, giving them a closer look at the exciting and ever-evolving world of aviation.

Students first joined an energetic career sharing session with a pilot, flight attendant, AI market engineer and flight engineer, who spoke vividly about their daily work, career journeys and the future of the aviation industry. Their lively stories helped students imagine themselves in these roles and encouraged them to build the skills and attitudes they need – from strong communication and STEM knowledge to resilience and curiosity – to turn their aspirations into reality.

Afterwards, students were divided into small groups to tour around Cathay City, visiting flight training simulators, the cabin training hub, the airport counter training area and realistic working zones, where they caught a glimpse of the teamwork and professionalism behind every flight. They also explored the structure of the flight cockpit and took part in fun and engaging game booths, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable, and many students left with their eyes opened, their confidence boosted and their dreams for the future sky-high. The visit was filled with fascinating facts and behind-the-scenes experiences, and inspiring many to set clearer goals for their future studies and careers in aviation.
