We proudly announce that a team of four students has won 2nd Runner-up in the territory-wide 5G Campus Application Creation Competition 2025, organized by the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) and implemented by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), standing out among 48 participating school teams across Hong Kong. This achievement recognizes their innovative use of 5G, AI, drones and app development to enhance safety on construction sites.

Starting from May 2025, the team engaged in intensive brainstorming, participated in multiple inspiration workshops, and attended numerous meetings and interviews to refine their project concept, identifying construction site worker safety as a pressing social issue. They then applied the full design thinking cycle: empathizing through in-depth research, defining concrete safety problems, ideating feasible 5G-enabled solutions, and prototyping with AI tools, drone programming and custom-built mobile applications, followed by rounds of testing and improvement.

The school warmly congratulates the four student innovators on this remarkable accomplishment. The experience broadened their horizons on how technology and empathy can work together to address authentic community needs. Their success showcases the potential of young people in harnessing 5G and emerging technologies to build a safer and smarter Hong Kong.
