On October 23rd, our English and History departments co-hosted the dynamic ‘G.R.I.T. X Renaissance Day’ to cultivate positive values—gratitude, integrity, resilience, and self-trust. Students stepped back in time to meet iconic figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Shakespeare, and Galileo. After school, a large number of students gathered in the Covered Playground to enjoy the interactive booths and immerse themselves in an English-rich atmosphere.

The energetic booths were designed to align seamlessly with our current English and History curricula. Students responded with great enthusiasm, actively participating in the games. They were so popular that long queues formed at every station, with many students eagerly rejoining the lines to play their favourite games again.

Students provided positive feedback, agreeing that it helped them practise and improve their English in a fun way by communicating with friends and booth helpers entirely in English. Both students and teachers also expressed appreciation for the Gratitude Tree and the Resilience Booth. Rolling dice and following the path while speaking English completely transformed the traditional learning experience. Meanwhile, the straightforward and meaningful Gratitude Tree invited everyone to write messages of thanks. The tree became beautifully decorated as more and more heartfelt notes were added.

Thanks to the adorable prizes, students were even more motivated to collect stamps. Some S.1 students expressed their fondness for the plush keychains. “The keychains are so cutely designed and having them on our bags just brightens our mood,” they said.

The event was a resounding success. It boosted students’ motivation to speak English in a comfortable, engaging environment while promoting positive values. We hope students will maintain their enthusiasm and continue participating proactively in future activities, as every single event carries its own special and meaningful message.
