Students fall in love with English classics

2026-03-04

This February, our students brought English classics to life in creative and immersive ways, blending literature, performance, and technology.

  • S1 Victorian Fashion Show S1 students staged a dazzling Victorian fashion show inspired by the detective stories of Sherlock Holmes. Characters were portrayed with flair, and the costumes were crafted from eco-friendly materials, showcasing both creativity and sustainability.

  • S2 Radio Drama S2 students turned Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde into a captivating radio drama. With clever use of props, they produced engaging sound effects that transported listeners into the mysterious soundscape of Stevenson’s classic Gothic novella.

  • S3 Voice and Vision AI Show S3 students reimagined the classic science fiction Frankenstein by creating alternative endings. Using a photovoice approach, they presented a Voice and Vision AI show where AI-generated images and storytelling combined to powerful effect.

These activities were made possible through a thoughtful streamlining and restructuring of the junior form English curriculum, creating space for AI integration, experiential learning and literary classics. S1-S3 teachers have introduced these classic literary texts in English lessons using fresh, interactive formats, and students not only deepened their understanding but also discovered joy in the process.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive—students are engaged, imaginative, and enthusiastic about English classics.
